About Fairfield

The Long Island Sound

Fairfield is a town located in Fairfield County, Connecticut. It is situated on the state's southwestern coast and offers beautiful beaches along the Long Island Sound.

Plenty of Beach to Explore

Penfield Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Fairfield. It offers a wide sandy shoreline, a boardwalk, and scenic views of the Sound. The beach has lifeguards on duty during the summer months and provides restrooms, a concession stand, picnic areas, and volleyball courts.

Jennings Beach is another well-known beach in Fairfield. It features a long stretch of sandy shoreline and grassy areas perfect for picnics and sunbathing, sitting on 27 acres. The beach is handicap accessible and offers amenities like restrooms, a playground, picnic tables, a pavilion, and food concessions. It is across from a playground and skate park, so there is plenty more to do than just typical beach activities.

Southport Beach is a smaller and more secluded beach in Fairfield. It provides a tranquil atmosphere and beautiful views of the Sound. It offers a serene environment for walking, sunbathing, and enjoying the waterfront. Typically the beach is free but the parking lot is closed off to just residents from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Sasco Beach is located in the Sasco Hill neighborhood of Fairfield. It offers a quieter beach experience with a peaceful atmosphere. The beach provides a sandy shoreline, picnic areas, benches, and limited parking. Please note that Sasco Beach is restricted to residents of the Sasco Hill area and their guests.

Necessities

If you’re in need of medical attention, Bridgeport Hospital is 20 minutes away. If travel is something you need, you’ll have to go a bit far to the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, an hour and a half away.

Charming Town and Beaches

Apart from the beaches, Fairfield itself is a charming town known for its historic character, tree-lined streets, and vibrant downtown area. It offers a variety of recreational activities, including parks, golf courses, hiking trails, and cultural attractions.
