About Hampton

 Northern Beach Culture

Hampton Beach is a popular destination located in the town of Hampton, New Hampshire, along the southeastern coastline of the state. Hampton Beach boasts a wide and sandy coastline that stretches along the Atlantic Ocean. It offers ample space for sunbathing, swimming, and other beach activities. The beach is well-maintained and supervised by lifeguards during the summer season.

 Parks and Events

Located at the southern end of Hampton Beach, Hampton Beach State Park offers additional recreational opportunities. It features picnic areas, RV camping facilities, nature trails, and a boat launch for fishing and kayaking on the nearby Hampton Harbor.

Hampton Beach hosts a range of events and festivals throughout the year, attracting large crowds. The Hampton Beach Seafood Festival, held in September, is a major highlight, featuring delicious seafood dishes, live music, arts and crafts vendors, and fireworks. Other events include sand sculpting competitions, a weekly summer fireworks display, and various concerts and shows.

 Historic Town

In the late 19th century, Hampton Beach started to gain popularity as a seaside resort. The availability of railroad transportation made it easier for people from nearby cities, such as Boston, to visit the beach. The establishment of hotels, cottages, and boarding houses along the coastline catered to the growing number of tourists.

One of the notable developments during this period was the construction of the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in 1899. The ballroom quickly became a focal point of entertainment, hosting big bands, dance events, and live performances by famous artists. The Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom is still used today as a live music and comedy venue.
