Deep Water/Mid-Island - Located at the mouth of the cul-de-sac at the end of Dunbarton Drive, 11 Deepwater is very private with no through traffic. As you drive in to this shaded beautifully landscaped property, the first thing you see is a fountain in the center of the spacious circular drive. There is a custom double metal gate that can be closed to secure access. Upon entering the house, your view is immediately drawn through the floor to ceiling windows to the breathtaking view of the marsh, Dunbar creek and beyond. As you take a stroll down the dock walkway, you travel over the gorgeous marsh and deep water Dunbar Creek opens up before you. The walk will end on the main dock where you can park your boat no matter what the tide because there is always at least eight feet of water, even at low tide. It is an easy and enjoyable boat ride up Dunbar Creek to Frederica River, the Intercoastal Waterway, and St Simons Sound. You can travel by boat to dinner, to view the fireworks on holidays or to see Driftwood Beach from a totally different angle. Because Dunbar Creek is not a thoroughfare, there is not a lot of boat traffic to cause a wake at your dock or disrupt the peace. 11 Deepwater has so many unique features and has been lovingly cared for by it's current owners. In 2020, the stucco was detailed and painted, The doors and windows had new weatherproofing done. The entire crawl space was encapsulated. This combined with proper sump pumps, de-humidifiers and a full membrane lining allows residents to enjoy the marsh without being unnecessarily damaged by it. Being on the west side of the island, the house is more sheltered from the path of storms and afforded more protection from storm surge by miles and miles of marsh.
