The property is located in South Punta Gorda. It is very close to a nature preserve and about two miles from Home Depot, a large supermarket and many other stores. Downtown Punta Gorda, a small historic town with many restaurants, bars and live music, is 5 miles away. The Punta Gorda airport is also about five miles away while the larger Fort Myers airport is approximately 30 miles. Although Eaverson Road and surrounding streets are zoned residential for single family homes, the area has few residents and a rural feel. It is ideal for nature lovers. Mature tropical woods such as Sabal Palm and other native species have been preserved on the lot to maintain a natural environment that resembles Central American jungles. The cultivation area is relatively small but by doing “intense farming”, that means regularly pruning and fertilizing, it is possible to grow well over 30 trees. In addition to those, along the fence, other edibles are being planted such as prickly pears and agave. In addition to their fruit those plants can also serve as a natural barrier against stray dogs, wild pigs and other wildlife known to inflict serious damage to plantings in the area. On the left side of the lot, another area has been partially cleared for the site of a future house. A home could be legally built within a certain proximity of the canal thereby offering nice views of the water and privacy from the street. The clever design of the property allows for the optional development of a comfortable house while maintaining a distinct natural setting and the cultivation of fruits and vegetables, all in the privacy that a lot of that size rarely provides. A location for a septic system and well have been set in the vicinity of the house area. If solar panels were installed the property could become completely off the grid.
