So far there are only two ways to move traffic to get off pleasure island when a warning is issued; hwy 59, and 161. it is my understanding that at one time, power-line road was best location to do so, and discussed by local leaders. the parcel sits in the middle of a significantly sized general Business Zoning. the parcel’s southern half, including all of the road frontage has been identified as wetlands. see photos. keep in mind, I am not a wetland expert!….. the us supreme court’s may 23, 2023 wetland ruling could be worth looking into with appropriate professionals. if successfully filled, i speculate that local businesses would appreciate parking lease options.
